Kalk & Beton – Chardonnay from the concrete egg is a characterful wine made from selectively harvested French Chardonnay clones. Vinified with great care and with a special focus on origin, structure, and maturation, this wine represents an independent and sophisticated Chardonnay style. Its special feature lies in its maturation in a concrete egg and two years of aging on the full lees. This exceptionally long maturation period gives the wine additional depth, a pronounced structure, and a multi-layered mouthfeel. The lees support the development of richness and creaminess, while the maturation in the concrete egg gives the wine space to unfold its natural fruit and individual characteristics. On the palate, the Chardonnay presents a harmonious combination of substance, melt, and freshness. The long lees aging ensures complexity and a lasting impression without overshadowing the independent character of the grape variety. Bottled in a high-quality stoneware bottle, Kalk & Beton Chardonnay also underlines its special claim visually. The combination of selected harvest, traditional lees aging, and a modern maturation concept makes this Chardonnay an exceptional interpretation of the grape variety. The concrete egg used, OEUF DE BEAUNE, comes from a French manufactory that produces the concrete for its vessels itself. This artisanal in-house production stands for individuality, precision, and the highest demands on the material. The special shape of the concrete egg and the long maturation period on the full lees enable gentle maturation and promote the development of structure, texture, and aromatic complexity.
